Walking

There are many walks in the area including the famous 'Kerry Way', which crosses the mountain less than 2Km behind Abbott's.

You can get onto the Kerry way from the Coad road, and it takes you to sneem to East, Waterville to the south and Caherdaniel to the west. Its not passible all year round, but you can get off and on from many locations close to the N70. Sneem has a very active walking group, who meet regularly, and provide guides and advice for such walks.

You can also walk to Derrynane from Caherdaniel village, and visit Daniel O'Connell's estate, which has rich, lush vegitation not seen anywhere in Ireland. Not too far away you can walk onto the long sandy beach's of Derrynane, or Travel the Mass walk from the Derryname harbour to the pier at Bunavalla.

Walking experiences is an organised tour group which is very popular. You can link to them here
